Sliced Text Effect | Adobe Photoshop
Software requirements:- Adobe Photoshop
Step 1:- Create a new document with the dimensions that you want, I will be creating a document of size 1080 X 1080px as I will be uploading it on Instagram. Remember to keep the resolution on 300 pixels/inch. Give the document name as you desire.
Step 2:- Next we will be creating a rectangle for making a black background. We can select the rectangle tool by pressing U. Then fill it with black color using the properties menu. Properties menu can be found under the window tab in the menu bar.
Step 3:- Then by selecting the type tool by pressing 'T' type whatever word you want in whatever font you want. To get the foot properties select character option under the windows menu in the menubar.
Step 4:- Create a mask by clicking the icon shown below which can be found in the bottom right corner. Make sure the colors on the left side are white and back.
Step 5:- Now select the polygon lasso tool by pressing "L" and select the part that you want to slice out. And the press Ctrl+D to fill the area with black color. Remember to select the mask by clicking the white portion besides T. And press Ctrl+D to deselect the area
Step 5:- Now press Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer and press Ctrl+I to invert the mask. Now adjust the sliced font as you want to using the move tool. The move tool can be selected by pressing "V".
Step 6:- Now create a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N) and make sure to drag it down under between the two text layers. If you don't have the layer panel, go to the windows menu and enable the layer option.
Step 7:- Select the brush tool (b) the change the color to background color you have chosen in my case it's black. And color using it near the sliced part. Done!
Congrats now you can create your own sliced effect text.
